4 comments » I'm going to sell a house this weekend!Howdy folks!! Now folks, as you know, I'm having a really difficult time getting your houses sold in this declining market. So, I had to come up with a little motivation. I'm a firm believer in positive attitude and making things happen. I have a lot of Sellers depending on me, right now, so just sitting around waiting for business is not an option. So with that in mind, I have prepared this little YouTube to get me going this weekend. Sit back, cut your speakers on and enjoy. I know I did!!!!

Leave a comment » Happy Mother's Day TLW!
I was very, very lucky. I was lucky the day a Mother came into my life 25 years ago. Yep that's right. L...U...C...K...Y!!!! I remember it well. After a very hard night of waiting tables I strolled across the parking lot to the bar next door from the restaurant I worked in. I didn't drink at the time so hadn't been in there in a while, but that night I decided to pop over and do a little dancing to wind down. Just so you know, I was a very good dancer in my younger days.
Anyway, I walked up to the bar to order a soda water and lime and folks...I was served by an angel!!! Yep, that's right. A real live angel hand picked especially for me. My wife. The one and only TLW(The Lovely Wife).
We have been together ever since. I was also lucky that TLW had two beautiful twin boys who became a very important part of my life. Did I tell you how beautiful my wife is? How about how smart and strong and caring she is? Did I tell you she still brings a smile to my face everyday? Did I tell you how empty life would be with out her? Well if not, she is and always will be, my little angel.
Happy Mothers Day TLW! Thanks for putting up with my crap for so long. Shhhh......don't tell her I posted this.

Leave a comment » Burning down the house!Recently, I was laid up with a back problem. Since I work from my home I was spending the day on ActiveRain reading, learning, commenting and posting. Very enjoyable as usual. My wife the lovely lady that she is decided she would take over the cooking duties and proceeded to make me my favorite 'sloppy mac' for lunch. Well being the 'wonderful' cook that she is she caught the kitchen on fire! Something to do with cooking pasta for 45 minutes on high while going outside to play with the dogs. After being alerted by the smoke detector I managed to roll myself out of bed and crawl to the fire extinguisher located in the kitchen mounted on the wall in the pantry. A few minutes later and the fire was put out and my house survived. http://www.brokerbryant.com/00099F

2 comments » The reality of reality is horrifying!
Late yesterday I was perusing the latest Time magazine and there was an article trying to make a connection between Global warming and the conflicts in Africa. According to this writer, the Sahara desert is becoming larger due to global warming and the effects of drought. And because of this it is creating a scarcity of food and water for millions of people. This teamed with existing tribal conflicts is creating tension and adding to the already unbelievable "living" conditions. To use the words from a report published by 11 former US Admirals and Generals, climate change is a "threat multiplier".
Now folks, I'm not writing this post to agree with or dispute the validity of Global warming or the cause of so much famine, hatred, disease and genocidethrough out the World and Africa in particular. I'm writing this for one reason, to get this sentence out of my head: "They beheaded people and used their heads for firewood"
Let that sink in for a minute. This is not a line from a horror movie. This is a reality of what people have to deal with in the Sudan and other parts of the World.
"They beheaded people and used their heads for firewood"
I for one, feel like I don't even live in the same World. I go about my little life worrying about the most inconsequential problems. "Will my deal close?" "Will I be able to afford a vacation next year?" "My back hurts." "I'm starving, I haven't eaten since 9am." "Someone was rude to me." I could go on but you get my point. http://www.brokerbryant.com/000934

Leave a comment » Fickle Fantasy Forever Forgotten! This morning, I woke up about 7am to the smell of fresh brewed coffee and the sizzle of thick slab bacon slowly cooking as TLW(The Lovely Wife) prepared me a gourmet breakfast to enjoy as I recline in my Tempurpedic Craftmatic Adjustable Vibrating Bed. As usual I log on to ActiveRainwhile simultaneously activating my Bluetooth ear appendage and preparing to deal with today's business. My first call came in at around 8:30, from one of my Sellers, asking me to reduce their listing price as they now felt the need to "give their house away". Obligingly, I agree. At 9:00, I had a REALTOR® call me, who had shown one of my listings yesterday. They were just calling to let me know how beautiful the home was and that it was a real pleasure to show it. They wanted to let me know that the Buyers were still looking but would keep this property on their list. I thanked her for the unsolicited feed back and proceeded to finish my delicious breakfast that was delivered by The Lovely Wife. TLW stood close by just in case I needed something else to eat or a refill on my coffee. She had woke up several hours before me to give herself time to look her best before I woke up.

Leave a comment » It's all about passion!
When I was young my family didn't have much money and I was never really pushed to be successful. Independent but not successful. I think I was too independent. I was a rebel. I never liked authority and did not like people telling me what to do. Because of this I left school at 16 and moved out on my own at 17 and never went back. I always worked and made decent money but seemed to have a problem taking it to the next level. I thought real success was for people that had an education. Then something life changing happened to me. I started waiting tables in an upscale Spanish restaurant located in Clearwater Fl., Tio Pepe's. I know what your thinking, "Broker Bryant, you were a waiter for Pete's sake, how did this change your life?" Well, let me tell you. http://www.brokerbryant.com/0008A9

Have I ever told you guys how lucky I am? No? OK so here goes. I am sooooooo lucky. "But Broker Bryant you always said you weren't lucky, that your success was earned and that you worked real hard to get where you are and luck had nothing to do with it." OK, OK maybe I wasn't 100% truthful.
Folks, if you are expecting my normal educational or humorous post you may want to skip by this one. It is neither. I'm writing this because I read something yesterday that disturbed me and I have to get it out of my head.
I don't know if I'm weird or not but did you know I really enjoy paying bills? It gives me a great feeling of accomplishment. Maybe it's because there were times in my life where I couldn't pay the bills. I wanted to, but one ingredient was missing. Money! Didn't have any and didn't know where to find it. I was always a hard worker and very motivated but unfortunately I just couldn't seem to make ends meet no matter how hard I tried. My biggest mistake was, I underestimated myself.
